Consultation Costs And Other Prices

 What does it cost ...

We believe in trying to offer value for money. Private medical care can seem expensive if you do not have medical insurance but effective treatment can result in less time off work and a better quality of life.

If you have private medical insurance then you should check the terms of your policy with your insurer before making an appointment.

Dr Cameron is registered as a specialist with BUPA, PPP, CIGNA, Standard Life Healthcare, REMEDI, Royal Sun Alliance and others but individual policies vary in the cover they offer for outpatient consultations or treatments. Always check before attending!

Not all insurers recognise Musculoskeletal Medicine as a specialty. If you have a policy with these companies then you may not be covered for consultations and treatment from Dr Cameron. Always check before attending!

If you are paying the costs yourself then the following prices are illustrative of typical services provided by Dr Cameron: They are in line with the amounts reimbursed by all major insurance companies.

Consultations are charged at £150 for a first appointment and £100 for a review visit .

Injections can vary in price depending on the nature or complexity of the injection. Most cost around £160 and you need to be aware that this is charged in addition to the consultation fee.

X-rays, CT Scans, MRI scans and ultrasound examinations are also available on site at The Edinburgh Clinic. Costs of these vary but you will be given an indicative price when you phone or email to book an appointment.

The Edinburgh Clinic normally require those who are self funded to make payment on the day of their appointment. Please ask about this when you book your visit.

If you have cover with an insurance company then it is normal practice to send the invoice straight to the company at the end of your treatment.

Please note - some private insurance policies carry an excess in respect of outpatient treatments - this may mean that you will be required to pay the excess amount personally at the end of your treatments.

If you require a more specific estimate of costs in your own case then please contact us using the details below. Please bear in mind however that it is difficult to give an exact estimate until Dr Cameron has met with you and assessed your individual case.
